Engineering & Technical Deep Dive

Technical Architecture: Debounced Input Streaming & Web Storage Persistence

Khalasna's scratchpad editor utilizes a debounced event-loop architecture to reconcile high-frequency typing with persistent browser storage. When typing in the textarea, onInput events update a reactive component state. To avoid excessive I/O overhead on window.localStorage, the engine buffers changes through a debounced auto-save hook (typically 300ms window), committing the string buffer via localStorage.setItem('khalasna_notes', content). Real-time statistics (characters, words, line count) are computed via RegExp splitting. Upon page reload, the initial state is hydrated synchronously from storage. Because all data is held in browser sandbox storage on your local disk, your private memos, confidential draft emails, and brainstormed thoughts are completely immune to server data leaks.
